This is not my picture, but as i cannot get out at the moment, i will repost a picture from Hurricane Island Outward Bound School.

I do miss the sharpness and depth of the night sky, when you are outside of town lights. to be honest, my last time seeing the milky-way stripe, i was 15 years old, and hiking with HIOBS. sadly, since then i have not been outside of town far enough to see it. but i dearly hope to.

Anybody have any night sky pictures they want to share? they don't have to be yours, as long as credit is where credit is due.

I have seen the Northern Lights from the North Cascades.
The Rockies and the Sierras have great night skies at high elevations.
