Ran into yet another new camping site today... pretty spiffy Facebook sort of social networking site. Some nice features! Gotta love all the Web 2.0 / ajax enabled stuff that everyone is using....
I really like the idea behind it. There are some features that it is lacking, though. Most of the members are from Canada but there are a few members from the U.S. There is no way to search by area, even the provinces within Canada. It would be a good thing for them to include so you could find other campers close by.
I had a look at the site. I found it interesting as most of the people that are on there are from my area of Canada. There are a few members from the US on there. Most of the people on there are tent campers and back country campers. Which is fine if you like that sort of camping. Personally, those days are over for me, I really like my Travel trailer. I was a member for a short while but left the site. I didn't feel comfortable being on the site. I feel at home here
When I decide to join a site I pick one on a topic and stick with it. I have found in the past that these types of sites become very redundant if you are on more then one.
I, myself, like to try out new sites until I find one that meets my expectations, but I see your point. If you are happy with one site, then stay with one site.
