We are trying to decide on a trip for the kids spring break next month. We are thinking about a long camping trip, 4-5 days, but we you cant ever tell about the weather in march, but it should be ok.

What are you parents going to do over spring break, anything?

We are talking about doing the same thing. I too am concerned about the weather. My dream trip is to take my daughter to Disney World in Orlando. I want to wait until she is a few years older so she remembers the trip.
We go camping EVERY spring break with the kids, sometimes it rains, but we deal with it
we are in Ca. so our weather is usually fine. Spring is the best time to go in my opinion, because it's not too hot, not too crowded and the flowers are blooming
Yeah we want to go camping too. Disney world would be great, but they probably need to be 7 or 8 to really remember it.
Yea-I am thinking 7 or 8 would be the best age.
You know I took my kids to Disney at 5 and 7 and it was VERY smart! They still believe in everything! Fantasmic was "real".

The people in the costumes were "really" the Disney characters.

And about 6 months later, PBS had a show where one of the animated characters was at Disney riding the rides and stuff... and my kids were SO excited that they had "been there" and "rode that"... etc. It brought tears to my eyes to see them watching that show and remembering everything they did on our trip!

Now... If you only take them once and not again, maybe they would not remember it... but if I take my kids back again in about two years they will get their memories jogged!

Next time I want to camp at Fort Wilderness though!!!!

We don't get a "spring break" because we get so many snow days all winter that the kids would go to school until almost July if they got a week off in the spring.

The Disney sounds very nice for the children. :thumbup1: We don't have any plans yet for spring break. They have it later this year, in another 2 weeks. My youngest has two parties she's going to. The first one a birthday party at Sandy Bottom. The second party is the next Saturday. Her other friend is having a birthday party at the bowling alley. Guess where this is at? Langley Air Force Base. It's a very cool base that's about ten minutes from our house.

Our kids have spring brake the firs week of April not this coming week. We don't have any camping planned as its still winter here. Only been in the high 30's lately during the day.

We might grab a motel room somewhere for a night or two. So the kids can do some swimming. Not sure yet, wife has the week off, but I'll probably have to work most of it.
Just got back from Fort Wilderness - the parks were crowded, but not as crowded as 4 years ago when my kids spring break was two weeks later.

My 5 year old will remember this trip for a long time. She is in love with Jack Sparrow, and during his street show when she was standing there in a Minnie Mouse outfit but wearing a pirate hat, he picked her to be in his show.

Someday she'll come back down to Earth - for now she's been floating around for the past 2 days.
WDW is always a grat place to take the kids, only problem is you better have plenty of money to spend...lol.
We thought we might try something different this year, we are planning a trip to the Ashboro zoo in NC and they have a new campground we thought we would check out.
My kids are grown now but, we still get together and camp.
Our youngin is on spring break this week. We were going to take a few days off and make a long camping trip, but I couldnt get days off, as others in my group beat me to it. Ahh, the working persons life......

So we headed down to the campground last night, and I just got up and came to work this morning. Its only about a 40 minute ride from where we are, so about the same that I drive from home anyway, actually closer.

Hey, nothings better than camping and making money!!!!!!:p
I would agree with that, but the wife and kid get to hang out at the campground and have fun, while I work :comfort_:

Well, actually thats not so true, she (wife) has been sick for a few days and was hurting bad this morning. Said she slept about an hour last night. So she just called and went to the doctor so she could get some medicine, bad sinus infection. Had some big steaks thawed out for the grill and tigers ballgame tonight, but she said she just cant do it tonight, it hurts to bad to eat a sandwich, let alone a steak. Oh, and the rain is moving in anytime now, should rain most of the day and night, moving out in the morning.

Other than that, should be a good time.
