I have a newb question. I only owned 1 tent in the past so this is my 2nd purchase, ever, of a tent. In this case, I bought 3 of the same brand (one 2-3 person size and two 1-person size).
Does anyone know what the proper way to fasten a top-panel (rain fly) to the Reactive Outdoor brand?
The instructions don't mention this separate panel. It's got 4 hooks (one on each corner) with a bungee.
On my 2-3 person tent, I can get it fastened onto the special black D-loops so I'm not so concerned with that one. It's how I'd expect the connection point to look (photos included below). But on my 1-person tent, I can get the hooks connected onto the top but I'm afraid the hooks will pull too hard on the seams and cause the fabric to rip. The design itself doesn't seem to have any other way to fasten the hooks other than a way which pulls on the sewn tunnels that are permanently affixed to the flexible tent poles. I think I have it fastened correctly but I'm not sure. It doesn't quite look right but if I try to look onto the black elastic loops, the rainfly is too lose and doesn't pull taut.
Am I doing something wrong?

This is a close-up of the same 1-person tent. You can see where the stress might pull on the area where the pole loop is sewn onto the main body of the tent - looks like it might rip the seam after a few uses.

This is the 2-3 person tent. I think this is correct. The top panel (rain fly) loooks to be perfectly stretched across the top.
Back to the one-person tent. Somehow, my photos are showing up in an odd order. The black elastic loop is too high for it to be the location where the hook is supposed to fasten and it's also very stretchy so the hooks would easiliy come off. I don't think that's where the hooks are supposed to connect but maybe they are?
Back to the 2-3 person tent. This is another photo of the D-shaped loops that look to be exactly where the top panel (rain fly) are supposed to be attached. Nothing unusual in this case.
