This is an older article, but I stumbled across it the other day, and thought some others may find it interesting as well. It talks about how the RV industry is slipping and Winnebago sales are down for the first time in 6 years....

It sad to see. Hopefully things will turn around soon, the RV industy is something like 15 billion a year I read. But the economy is not that great right now... :scratchhead:

Two words... and every politician is ignoring them like the plague...

Gas prices

I myself know that the only economic development that will occurr with that refund check (assuming that it actually happens) will be for me to fill my oil tanks to heat my house, and my gas tank to drive too and from work.

Expendable cash is getting burned up in our gas tanks and oil/natural gas furnaces. I just got my oil tanks filled up to heat my house and it cost $620 for two months worth of oil. My tiny little Mercury Tracer station wagon cost $40 a fill up which amounts to $240 a month in gasoline.

I wanted a travel trailer, but 4 plane tickets cost less now than 4 tanks of gas in my truck to tow it to the places I want to visit.

I have to stick to my tent for now, but if gas prices would go down (and I knew they would stay down) I would buy a travel trailer.
