I have something to build with wood 2x4". I can obtain "treated" 2x4" beams from Home Depot, these look different compared to the non-treated.
The beams will be outdoors, direct sun and rain, ambient air temperature up to 40°C, termites.
I wonder if and why "treated" wood needs to be painted.

If painting is required what kind of paint should I buy?

Even treated wood can look like hell after the elements have their way. My deck at home doesn't look as good as it did when I built it 11 years ago, and I've had to replace the top part of a railing twice (it gets a ton of rain runoff from the roof). I read an article one time about what was the best stain, etc. to use on treated wood - the best was paint.
