Hi Everyone
I just got over my nasty nasty nasty cold / fever and I immedietely visited some mud caves in the Anza Borrego desert...Wow does anybody else LOVE mud caves?? They are so creepy and cool. My pictures didn't turn out so great because it was so dark...the caves are totally made out of mud and they were HUGE and winding and pitch dark. It was very cool.
Any other mud caves around that you all know about? My kids are wanting to go again...like right now!

Mud caves are so beautiful to look at. I can't believe that the rains are wearing them down so much. We had quite the rainstorm 2 nights ago. I have been here for 5 years, but this rain was heavy and windy. The house literally shook with the sound of the wind and rain. It amazing how a force like that can have so much power.

Hello Mariahdawn :10220:
How does one get to the mud caves at Anza Borrego ? Do you need 4-wheel drive?
Have been keeping track of the desert-flower/season-status for AnzaB and JoshuaTree. Love to check out your caves while we're cruzing around out there.
Cheers! :yippie:

The mud caves I am talking about don't really require 4 wheel drive, unless it has been raining, there are about 22 caves and then there are the slot canyons, which are different...not as dark.
The weather is great! the flowers are in full bloom...it's a great time to visit the desert
