Just back from a rainy camping weekend :

Hello all, we are just back from a camping weekend in Ft. Mill S.C, we stayed at the Fort Wilderness ( not the one in WDW ) campground by Carrowinds Theme Park. The trip had it's ups and downs, the ups was the campground was very nice and the staff was super friendly, the down was of course, it rained all day Friday, part of the day Saturday and was Cold..., and Sunday was just plain breezy and cool with spots of showers.

So next year I think we might wait until the end of April to get the camper out and about.

I did a product review, allbeit not a very good one because I didn't know how to upload the darn picture of my Colman nightstand that I won on this very board...lol...anyways, I wanted to say I loved this item, we are in a travel trailer and we put it between two chairs under our awning and put some camping supplies in the storage, I was so pleased with it, the storage was great and the game board made for some fun afternoons relaxing. We had some winds pick up on Saturday and came back to the camper and the nightstand was still upright and even the checkers hadn't fell off. It's really a fun item, if you can go out and grab you one, it servers as a three fold item, storage under, mesh storage on the side and a game board. We had two folks come up and ask where we got it so it must look pretty good too, plus if you wanted you can use it as a cooler, we were going to do just that but it was not the best weather for just sitting out and drinking a cold drink.

Ok anyone else camp this weekend ? How was it ?

Terri, sorry to hear the weekend was cold and rainy. Sounds about like our first trip couple of weeks back.

It was the same here in TN, cold front came through and was in the 50's all weekend, so we did not go camping this weekend.

So I got up and went turkey huntin saturday morning (no luck), went crappie fishing saturday afternoon (good luck), and changed the brakes on my truck sunday. Had a busy weekend.

Thats great about the coleman nightstand. There may be a few more of these to give away down the road :thumbup1:, so I am glad to hear it stood the test.
Well the weekend wasn't a total loss my dd and son-in-law really enjoyed Carrowinds even though it was crowded.

I just love warm weather when camping , I'm not a cold weather camper, to me nothings better than to sit out with a good book and just enjoy the day, it's hard to do that when it's 50 outside..lol
well, as everyone told me, a bad day camping is better than a good day at work. I have to agree.

By the way, I added a pic for your product review :)

Hey thanks alot and you are so right, would rather be camping than working anyday of the week ! Funny thing was Thursday whenever we left to go to the campground it was a beautiful day, just great perfect weather 74 and sunny.

When I used that quote last week (well, actually it was "A rainy weekend camping is better than a dry weekend at home") to our cub scout leaders in reference to canceling a campout due to rain, someone replied and asked me if things were that bad at home :rotflmao1:

Hmmm, maybe it is huh? :scratchhead:

Sorry you had a rainy trip, but hey, at least you got out, so that means the prime time is just around the corner.
Sorry to hear about the rainy weekend, but I am happy/jealous you got out and went camping anyway. Read the tent nightstand product review, I think I need one of those!
