My wife and I made our first camp in 1957 at
Frog Lake, OR with blankets on fold up cots.
Didn't know any better. Froze from the bottom,
of course, and wound up curled into our VW bug.

Lost her in 2007 and immediately became a full time
RVer as a coping mechanism. It worked – well, it
helped.

I have now been thru 2 trailers, a motorhome with a
dinghy and have decided that adventuring is more than
about maintaining a bunch of equipment. So, I have
reduced my footprint to the dinghy, (a 4wd mini-SUV), tent,
trekking poles, camera and keyboard (have to write my
symphony) and computer. Using shore power pending
installation of a new power system, then I'm off the grid.

Celebrating my 82nd in November so it is time to launch a
national tour in pursuit of pleasant weather using 1000 Trails
resorts, starting in southern California, then clockwise.

Im in a silver Suzuki Grand Vitara with with a blue Coleman
tent. Maybe see you in camp.

We are full members of 1000Trails, too, but are only part-time RVers. Now with watching our new grandson we have been reduced to rare-timers but we do get out on occasion.

We do have a trip in 2011 that puts us at two 1000 trails locations in Florida. I don't know where you'll be next March, but ya never know.

Keep posting and maybe one day our outings will match up.

Welcome
I also started with tent camping in my twenties about 1970, and gradually got too old for being cold and gravitated to motels with nice warm showers and such. Then I met a nice lady a couple of years back that liked ATVing as I did and we bought a toy hauler that we really enjoy so that's our cup a tea. The outdoors always had it's strong appeal but I seem to have become wimpy at a young age but my hat's off to you. Gerry
