beef jerky

I just started a blog with some of the stuff I cook on it. Most of it is cooked on the grill or smoker. Only have 2 recipes on it so far, beef jerky and beer bread. I'll be adding more, just a few along. I was doing it mostly so that I could remember how I did something and sometimes others ask me, figured it would be simple for me to look at the blog or give the address to someone else. Here it is if your interested, please leave comments here or on the blog if you have suggestions, thanks, Bob:icon_smile_bbq:

I'd eat it.: BEEF JERKY

Just remember, there's not much there right now. And yes, I get paid every time somebody visits it, about 1000th of a penny per click.:icon_smile_bbq:

Bob,I make jerky myself. I get london broil when it's on sale. If I have some venison I use that. I just about freeze the broil then cut it, makes it easier to cut into strips.
My marinate is just a mess of stuff that I throw in, starting with bulls eye marinate. Liquid smoke, lemon pepper, some hot sauce , Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and maybe paprika. Don't measure anything just gotta feel it. Let it set in a couple of baggies overnite and start them the next morning.
Most of the time I use a dehydrator. My smoker is at the trailer. If I make it up there I use it with hickory chips.
I'm going to try your recipe, looks pretty good. My daughter makes a pretty good beer bread and Deb, my wife, make some really good Irish Soda Bread.
thanks man, i think i'm going to start listing campgrounds on a blog with site pictures as we go camping this year. we're always trying to remember what sites are best and stuff like that and somebody is always asking. it'd be a good way to remember it yourself and past it on. i'll post it when i get it started.

less than 2 weeks til first trip of the season.....
You are very welcome.
I started a ledger years ago. How long it took to get to a campground, how many miles, who went and what sites we where on. However, I didn't take to many pictures.
We would pick out better sites and put them in for the next time we went to a particular campground and reserve them.
I don't do it so much anymore. We found a seasonal campground that fits our needs. It is an hour away and I don't have to set up anymore and I can go and come anytime, even during the winter. The weekend trips are just about done now. I got tired of driving up to 3hr on fri night and get told to leave by 12 on sun. I just pull the trailer out for vacations now. I keep the ledger for future reference.
Sounds like a good idea, but I think we started out talking about making jerky.:smack-head: Going to the trailer this coming week. It is supposed to be nice. Getting ready.
