Default Hello from South Alabama

My wife and I are new to tent camping. We bought a Coleman Weatherman last year and have taken several nice trips. I just found this website and hope to learn more and make some new friends.

It appears you came to the right place for all things camping related. Good to hear you are quickly gaining experience. We look forward to hearing more stories as well as sharing ours.

So what is a Coleman Weatherman? Is it a guy you bring along and if he gets wet, it's raining, takes off his shirt then it's hot or if he's shivering to death then it's cold? I'm not sure I could afford another mouth to feed and he better not be better looking than me, either.

Just wanted to say hi. I am new to tent camping, too. Much newer than you, actually. We have a Coleman Canyon Breeze. I am from the Birmingham area. Welcome.

Default Just come on up from Birmingham

I think you'll like Wheeler park. When you come up, bring me one of those old Schwinn bicycles I see listed on C/L down that way.

Birmingham is about 170 mi from where I live in Southern middle TN. I restore/collect old bikes. I miss lots of them because I cannot afford to drive that far to pick them up. It would simply add too much to the cost, but a I don't think a thing about driving that far to camp.

Let us know if you came, and how you perceived it.

The parking spots are paved. Some may have a few raised places from roots growing under them, but they are acceptable and lots better than gravel.

I hope you have a good experience. We find the staff there very cordial and cooperative.

Have a great time!

Thank you, I grew up in Bham and now live in Fairhope. Not enough water in Bham for me.
