Default New to RV camping

My husband and I just recently purchased a 2004 Laredo. We are looking forward to many trips. We would appreciate any advise. My husband used to camp with his family as a teenager. Does anyone have a favorite CG in the mountains for a weekend trip from SC?

I'm not familiar with Sc, but to the forums!

If you need help, don't hesitate to ask. There are a lot of great people here who can answer just about any question you can come up with.

Davidson River CG in Pisgah National Forest (at Brevard, NC - 30 minutes from Hendersonville). We go here 2 - 4 times a year (we live next to Charleston). Mind you, if you are looking for amenities, then this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for a peaceful place, where the temps aren't bad, the sites are good size, a river you can swim, tube, or catch trout in, then this is the place for you.

They have no hookups (okay, there are about 3 sites that do have water and electric - never used them), but you can fill your fresh water when you pull in, and there are plenty of spigots on each loop. Each loop has nice bathrooms. The showers are one temp only - I say they're too hot, my wife says they are perfect.

If you need anything there's a 24 hour Bilo and a Wal-mart about 1 mile back in Brevard. You're also about 20 minutes from Blue Ridge Parkway, and there are plenty of hiking trails, primitive camping sites, waterfalls, horse trails, etc. in the forest.

Find the CG at 35.281159, -82.722266

Default Welcome !

I like to welcome you to the forum. I haven't been here in awhile. This is an awesome group of people from all over. They know everything. You came to the right place. I have never camped in South Carolina, but I have in North Carolina. I loved the lady who has all of her camps on her map. I wish I could be that organized. Good to be here again with all of you!

Hey Grace, wondered where you'd been.

Now, many a time people have told me I'm no gentleman (and my wife will probably second that), but that's the first time I've been called a lady

Happiestcamper is a lady? Now I am really confused. Does his wife know about this?

You guys will please FORGIVE my stupidity? One time I accidentally called Mr. Fortner - Mrs. Fortner. He just laughed and said it was early. I do tend to get those ladies and gentlemen mixed up. Sorry!!

Hey Grace - it's all in fun - just like we say your name before every meal

Amy, at least I'm not confused at what I am, so you can breathe a sigh of relief before you read any of my blogs, and I think after 4 kids my wife knows what I am

CT, that's what you and I get for posting recipes

As long as the wife knows, then all is well. You and ct are fine posting recipes. Now if you start posting decorating tips.... lol

Welcome back, Grace!

We use that name for the clumsy folks around here.

I guess so! Is that what it is? But I dont wear aprons or skirts or anything like that when I cook. I will stay away from the decorating tips, as hard as it will be.

You guys are so funny to include me at mealtime! We say "Grace" too. So it's also perfect for a clumsy person. That's me once in a while.

I know you have all the information about RV's - but not decorating them? I thought that would be a popular subject here at CamperCommunity?
