Default trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains/Atlantic

Hello everyone,
we are considering a camping trip to Lake Lure, NC and then on the Atlantic coast.
Considering a visit to D.C. if the fuel prices stay reasonable.
Would love to find a campground on the ocean.

Thanks Pete

Glad to have ya here. Welcome.

There are a few places that you can stay at on the ocean.
Myrtle Beach. There are a bunch there. We stayed at a Ocean Lakes, a few years back, and liked it.
Ocean City, Md. Couple places there too. Assateague Is. and Frontier Town.

Assateague is a state park and a national park. the state has one loop with water and electric, they do not allow dogs. the national is dry camping only. It has sites on the ocean and the bay. The bay sites you can run a generator at certain times. You can camp with the wild ponies. Check out my posts in Campground and Resorts under beach front camping. I put up some pictures.

Frontier Town is on the bay with full hookups. They have a few sites right on the water. They also have a water park that is free for the campers and a wild west theme park. Make a reservation here early for when and if you go. It is full most of the time. Especially the waterfront sites.
If you want more info on these areas let me know. We have been down there quite a few times. Bob
