Hi I am vern and wife is jackie. we have 31 ft 5th wheel and love camping. live in south PA and have mostly camped in-state and surrounding states. I have camped in other states I lived in like Utah.

I have two issues maybe someone can help with suggestions or info.

1. have developed leaks in our rubber roof on trailer (think due to hail last winter). i would like to fix it myself since replacing the roof by dealer has been quoted about $3000 and don't have that $$. any suggestions on what can do that is inexpensive but reasonably effective (at least for few years)? any sources I can use to research or use or purchase needed products from?

2. want to snobird in FL in Jan-Mar 2010 on a budget. most of campgrounds contacted are $800-1200/mo for site. and state parks and such have time limitations. anyone know inexpensive way to do this to see if we like it or someone who has spot we can put trailer for couple months?

would appreciate some input or ideas.

lookin forward to being member and getting to know some of you.

Welcome aboard

I fixed some leaks a few years back. Cleaned area well with acetone, then put Eternabond tape over them. Covered all that with rubber roof primer and paint. Worked great.

kool-seal makes some stuff for that type of repairs. google it or look at camping world. i've heard a lot of people use the eternabond tape but never used it myself.

Can't help you with your roof....but Turtleback RV Resort in Lake Panasoffkee FL is a nice inexpensive place to camp for a few months. We were here last year for 4 month and returned this year again because it was so economical. And it's a nice park too!!!
