I am not familiar with that guide but as long as you purchase any book that can teach you what's out there, the terminology and what technology is out there, then it can't hurt. Keep in mind, you may not want to jump on a fully loaded trailer if you don't know how these help and really how much value you can get. I've met plenty of people who pay too much for a rig for the features, then they learn over time, they really didn't need it so they paid too much. Since trailers are worse depreciators than vehicles, be very careful. You might also find that over time you can add those features and sometimes for cheaper.

Get to an RV show. Use the book to learn the features and terminology so you can make comparisons. Do not buy ANYTHING until you are ready. Don't make a salesperson happy with a sale, then learn the hard way what they forgot to mention. Salesman are not your friend no matter what. They are getting paid to talk to you and paid even more if they can get you to buy. Then that trailer becomes your problem and there is NOTHING they have to do to fix it. PERIOD.

Ask lots of questions. Join other forums that are RV specific. Ask for advice, then when you get barraged with a whole soire of answers you don't understand ask about what you don't understand. I have found that the RV world is the most patient and helpful group of people on the planet, because we dole out help willingly for FREE. It's the only thing around that is truly FREE!

Good luck to you and happy hunting!

    Hi Artmart,

I am still on the market for my RV, there's just so many different ones out there, I am getting confused. I have one question, I am thinking of getting this book called "RV Comparison Guides 2011-2012" by J R Consumer Resources. Is this book worth getting or would I be wasting money on it, or is there another way to look for answers?
