Recovering From Sunstroke

Sunstroke is a very dangerous condition. If you are a victim of sunstroke there are several things you can do to recover from this condition. Don’t ignore the symptoms.
The most important thing is to get out of the heat. If an air-conditioned area is unavailable at least move into the shade. Remove as much clothing as possible, especially shoes and socks as they tend to hold in body heat.
Drink plenty of water… sip, don’t guzzle it. If you have a sports drink available, it’s an even better choice. Why? It contains electrolytes, which help to replenish the salt supply in your body. Eating crackers or pretzels will also help.
Take a bath or shower of possible. If this is impossible, apply a cold cloth to your forehead, arms, neck and face. This will help to cool you down. (Cooling down your body is your main goal.)
Avoid wrapping yourself in a wet towel. This can actually hold in body heat, instead of cooling you down. Alcohol rubs will also do more harm than good.
Symptoms of sunstroke include: confusion, nausea, dizziness, headache, increased respiration and skin redness.
Sunstroke symptom should not be ignored. If left untreated the condition can result in death.
