A camp versus camping.

Posted 07-13-2008 at 12:27 PM by kiteri
Well, at my new job I work closely with a girl who has "a camp". She has a cabin close to a lake.

At my last job, one of my coworkers had a camper that hadn't been road worthy for at least a decade that was set up on a site close to state game grounds. This was his "camp".

I sort of view my canvas tent as my portable camp.

I like to think that if I want to be next to the state game lands I will just put my tent up there.

If I want to be close to the lake, I will put my tent up there.

If I want to go to the beach I will put my tent up there.

This is my idea of the difference between camping and having "a camp".

Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with having a camper or cabin in one place. I would LOVE to have that also... but if I am choosing one or the other, I think I like the ability to go different places and see different things each time we camp.
