My blog is dedicated to folding trailers (AKA PopUps or PUP’s). Hopefully non-PUP owners will find some of the posts of interest/value.

I’ll cover equipment, modifications, maintenance, camping stories, and of course SPUT’s (Stupid Pop Up Tricks). Please forgive my rants & raves and posts on my camping buddy – my granddaughter.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. So I try and keep the post short but augment them with pictures from my SmugMug gallery.

Enjoy.

I was going to write about safety chains but another topic popped up last week that I thought I would spend some time discussing. The topic was whether one could prevent rust by greasing a hitch ball.

Previously when this was discussed there were some that argued against...

Early last week a fellow camper said he was having problems attaching his tongue jack wheel because of low ground clearance. He wanted to know if he should do away with the wheel. My response was to shorten the tongue jack and I added that “I would keep the wheel on because if you bump the trailer while backing up the TV - you want the trailer to move a little. Plus there are times that you will want to move the trailer an inch or two just a little...

My eldest daughter has pointed out that whenever I get involved in a hobby or some other activity I spend a lot of time reading everything I can get my hands on. Motorcycles, hand guns, Jeep Wrangler, home audio equipment and now folding trailers. The problem is that I was having a hard time finding a magazine with folding trailer articles.

I started with Trailer Life and quickly got frustrated with the content. Yes there were camping...

Since my last post a lot of information on the sale of Fleetwood’s Folding Trailer division has been released. According the press release and the Form 8-K filing with the SEC, Fleetwood has signed a deal to sell its folding trailer division stock and real estate to FTCA, LLC and FTCA Real Estate, LLC. Both of the FTCA companies are affiliates of Blackstreet Capital Partners, L.P. Some of the details:

Well I got some sad news last week. I say “sad” in that there are changes in the works and I’m struggling with the consequences.
OK so what was the news?

Well this first may only be important if you are a Fleetwood Evolution owner. The news is that they are changing the interior décor from the black and gray cabinets and gray/tan upholstery which I love but I know some think the décor is sterile. The rumor was that they were going...
