My blog is dedicated to folding trailers (AKA PopUps or PUP’s). Hopefully non-PUP owners will find some of the posts of interest/value.
I’ll cover equipment, modifications, maintenance, camping stories, and of course SPUT’s (Stupid Pop Up Tricks). Please forgive my rants & raves and posts on my camping buddy – my granddaughter.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. So I try and keep the post short but augment them with pictures from my SmugMug gallery.
Enjoy.

Father:s Day came early this year
Created 5/25/08
My eldest daughter has pointed out that whenever I get involved in a hobby or some other activity I spend a lot of time reading everything I can get my hands on. Motorcycles, hand guns, Jeep Wrangler, home audio equipment and now folding trailers. The problem is that I was having a hard time finding a magazine with folding trailer articles. I started with Trailer Life and quickly got frustrated with the content. Yes there were camping tips that I found interesting but I got frustrated with the number of truck articles… after all if I wanted to read up on pick up trucks I would buy truck magazines.
Camping Life was a little better. Now although I just said I wasn’t interested in pick up trucks, I found the Tow Ratings a valuable tool. I’ve also referred many new folding trailer newbie’s to the two potable generator comparison articles. However, while there are lots of articles on tents, camping clothes equipment, there is still a lack of folding trailer articles.
However, I finally found what I was searching with Pop Up Times Magazine that was a God send. Off went the subscription.
Later I read Dave’s blog on how he started the magazine and all the opposition and obstacles he ran into… but he persevered and as the title of the blog suggest he took the recommendation to “Follow your dream”
Now Ruide, what does that have to do with Father’s Day coming early?
Well thanks to a fellow camper I discovered that 23 back issues of the Pop Up Times Magazine were available on EBay. Another God send. However, while I’ve purchased items over the internet, I had never purchase anything using the bidding process on EBay.
Yes I just read the question on your mind “Ruide, have you been living in a cave?”
“Not exactly”. But I quickly figured out the bidding process and decided that I would pay up to $1.00 per back issue plus $7.00 for shipping. Then I had to constantly sign on to EBay and watch as the other bidder kept raising their bid. However, in the end I won the bidding process and after paying by PayPal the magazines were delivered to my house.
Of course I was quite proud of myself but had the bubble busted when I told my wife of my accomplishments only to have her say “Well that only confirms that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” My only response was to suggest that she try and sell her “Good Housekeeping” or Oprah’s O” back issues on EBay

Ebay is great for things like that. Most people read them once and toss them, but why not sell them cheap, because there is always someone like yourself who could use them, especially at a good price. Good find

Billy, I agree with you and this is much better than just recycling the paper. I still remember Goodwill refusing to take a set of Encyclopedias because kids can get so much info off the internet. I ended up leaving them outside a library hoping they would find a use for them.
